Team History

With the start of the American Football League in 1960, emerged the team known today as the San Diego Chargers. However back then, they were the Los Angeles Chargers. Since the merger of the AFL and the NFL, the Chargers have appeared in seven playoff games, three AFC Championship games and one superbowlagainst the 49ers in Superbowl XXIX.

They have won the AFC West Division every year since 2006 and reached the AFC Championship game in 2007. The team is due for their Superbowl Championship and under the guidance of Quarterback Philip Rivers and Headcoach Norv Turner, the wait will hopfully end soon.
